What the astral really was, and what it is now…

A fistula, of all things, which pressingly needs fixing!

I was calling the astral non-reality the astral sub-reality until late 2015, when I came to understand its true nature more precisely. In practice I'm commonly using the shorthand term 'the astral' for this, just for convenience. This, however, does incur the risk of confusion for some people, because that term is used quite widely by some people to mean actually less than what I mean by it. That's why, when I remember, I'm giving it a clarifying little pop-up reminder that it's carrying my specific meaning.

The physical 'reality' is what people generally and most readily recognise as 'reality', whether correctly or otherwise. It has a certain constancy and consistency about it, so that any part of it appears approximately the same to different people who are in the same place at the same time, and its changes over time appear to follow what you could call various formulae and algorithms, which, when recognised by scientists, get called scientific 'laws' (perhaps rather ill-advisedly!).

However, very many people experience what they take to be* another whole aspect of apparently external dualistic 'reality' that isn't physical, and which, although usually displaying some common factors for most people who experience it in any way, has the emphasis on inconsistency between one person's experience and another's, and which has a fundamentally chaotic character, with no identifiable consistent mathematically definable 'laws' — so that changes that one person observes within the astral don't correspond to any close degree with changes that another person observes.

This is what I now refer to as the astral non-reality. Also, virtually everything that one observes within the astral non-reality would in at least some degree be impossible within the physical 'reality', and apparitions or 'visuals' can transform or metamorphose in all manner of ways that seem weird, grotesque or indeed fantastic to us.

I must sound a note of great caution here, because what I'm calling the astral non-reality or the astral corresponds only very partially with what people call the astral dimension, astral plane, or indeed the astral even though they generally mean 'sort-of' the same thing. I do recognise those three latter (New-Age-associated) terms as being covered by 'astral non-reality', yes, but also along with ALL other supposed levels, dimensions or aspects of perceived or assumed dualistic non-physical or 'higher' or 'lower' realities.

The astral non-reality as I recognise it therefore includes not only what people have been calling the astral dimension but also the supposedly high 'dimensions' as well. Thus ALL non-physical 'dimensions' or realms, and manifestations of apparent non-physical beings — whether they be identified as demons, archons, astral lords, dark entities, spirits, guides, ascended masters, angels, archangels, Elohim, gods / goddesses, one's own purported 'higher consciousness', God, Creator Consciousness, etc., are actually occurring within, or at least are illusions sourced out of, the astral non-reality.

The latter also appears to correspond in part with the various concepts of the 'common unconscious', 'collective human consciousness' and so on — so it's also the repository of all the so-called 'archetypes' of human experience.

On the basis of a lot of observations over some years I've come to the conclusion (i.e., as part of my working model, rather than a fixed belief) that ALL non-physical beings and other non-physical manifestations (including 'other realities' and displays such as hell visuals) are illusory, and not 'real' in any genuinely helpful sense — and that the cause of those illusory phenomena is interferences from the garbage.

Indeed, following on from the above three paragraphs, according to my understanding it's fundamentally impossible for the astral non-reality to contain actual conscious beings, because it's that aspect of reality (and indeed, of consciousness) that contains all our projected illusions and distorted notions. Nothing within it can be shown to have any objective existence. Indeed, really it's not even an aspect of reality, as we shall see…

It's important to understand that the astral non-reality, as suggested by my name for it, is NOT an alternative reality at all, nor an aspect of 'reality' — even less so than a tree or a mountain is. Rather, it's more in the nature of a clearly recognisable backwater of the 'real' 'reality', and its real purpose is nothing to do with experiencing any sort of 'reality' whether 'real' or 'sub'!

Do you regard your imagination as a genuine alternative reality? If you do, you're most likely in trouble, and could well soon end up in your local friendly psychiatric establishment. Likewise with the astral non-reality, except that you'd very definitely be in trouble! Indeed, my inner inquiry has pointed to the astral non-reality as being effectively a deeper and more powerful version of what we think of as 'imagination' — but with a particular most important functional difference.

Now let me clarify this further. My indications are that the area of consciousness that we have been perceiving as the astral was NEVER meant to be used as anything more than a sort of very deep-level mental scratchpad and working-out area to support our creativity in the 'real' reality of 'What Is'. Our conscious level of awareness (the 'mind') wasn't intended to be materially engaging with it at all — the intended engagement occurring at deeper, subconscious levels of our awareness.

That's why 'the astral' contains such a mess and is so harmful for us to consciously engage with. This configuration anomaly is remarkably analogous to what the medics call a fistula (i.e., in one's body). A common type of fistula is an anal fistula, which connects between the anal canal or sometimes the rectum and an exterior opening close to the anus. Fistulas, whether physical or non-physical, are for fixing and not playing with!

Over the aeons human-type beings have exploited that 'fistula' by polluting the astral with all the thought-forms created by their compulsive misuse of it by treating it as a genuine alternative reality and deliberately doing all sorts of things within it that it was never 'designed' for, such as entertainments (including astral projection / travel), doing 'magic' (including most 'healing') and using other 'special powers' and psychic perceptions, and so forth, and even, a very long time ago indeed, inadvertently creating the garbage itself.

Think of it this way. Would you use a system-reserved partition on your computer's system drive for your own purposes, even reorganising, editing and deleting files that were already there? — Surely not, for you'd know that doing any such thing would snarl up your computer's functioning and probably fatally crash it.

Yet that's just the sort of thing that's happening with people deliberately using the astral non-reality, which is actually one of the system-reserved areas of human consciousness, though unfortunately a configuration error in consciousness itself had made it apparently impossible to protect from misguided conscious interference and misuse. No wonder we're in such a mess!

By way of underlining how serious the situation is, and the pressing need to rectify it, I have indications from my inner inquiry that there's a real risk that at some point the anomalies in 'What Is' caused by this situation (especially people using 'special powers', which cause breakthroughs from the astral to 'What Is') would cause a catastrophic breakdown of the order of 'What Is' — which would mean a collapse of 'reality' into the chaos of an apparently infinite hell, out of which there would be no escape.

Although at any one point in time (so far) that risk has been small, over the aeons it would be bound to come about. So, for aeons already deeper consciousness has been seeking to rectify this situation, not only to make life better for its incarnations but to eliminate the eventual inevitability of the most unthinkable calamity, ending all of 'Existence' as we know it in the most horrific way.

This needs to be seen in the context that deeper consciousness would surely be seeking to come out with some solution to this really rather desperate state of affairs.

Fixing that 'fistula' — closing 'the astral' from the 'ordinary mind' of every human-type being in all 'Existence'

Since the end of 2015 my inner inquiry consistently indicated that a process for this was under way, though it could well take many years, but with the possibility of a breakthrough at some point, beyond which progress would be relatively rapid.

Then in 2020, as a result of my further work with deeper consciousness on the matter, it appeared that a breakthrough had at last been made and a much more 'solid' and faster set of processes had been started towards our 'jackpot' aim. It was a real belt-and-braces three-pronged approach, with separate processes running for dissolving the cacoprotean network (using that network as the means of its own dissolution), the garbage, and of course closing-off 'the astral' — though the latter process would render the other two redundant.

In early 2022 the 'fix' had apparently been completed — that completion just being pipped at the post by completion of dissolution of the garbage, the cacoprotean network having apparently already been dissolved about the middle of 2020.

Since the alleged astral closure I myself seemed to be more or less free of the chaotic astral-sourced moving images that I'd previously been seeing while lying in bed at night, waiting to go to sleep — though I was still seeing some less intrusive and disturbing images, so this wasn't fully clear-cut. A few other very 'open' and aware no-soul people reported pretty-well the same change about that time.

Although that couldn't be taken as proof of anything, it was at least quite suggestive. But then in late November 2022 I had a much more clearly indicative experience.

To quote (slightly adapted) from an entry in my Blog,

Increasingly over about a week, when I was having wakeful periods overnight, and especially initially after going to bed, I seemed to be getting a return of astral-sourced visuals, which was causing me an increasing nagging concern, that perhaps the astral hadn't really been closed off from all human 'minds' after all* (in which case the garbage might still exist and be functioning).

However, there was something different about these visuals, which became increasingly evident as they became more prominent night by night. Finally there was a climactic night (27–28 November), much disturbed by 'overactive mind', triggered by something that particular day. That time the visuals were crazy-strong, and I couldn't sideline them in the way I'd been able to before, so I just had to do some inner inquiry to work out what the eff was going on.

The visuals undoubtedly had some degree of 'astral' quality at times, but quite often were just rather peculiar 'vignettes' of more or less close-up nature scenes, such as a small section of a vegetated old drystone wall (a theme that popped up several times).

Other visuals were more like the familiar astral imagery, in that they were a bit weird and having no clear meaning, but they were really colourful in a rather brash way, in colours that seemed midway between poster colour and watercolour, and although they moved and metamorphosed somewhat, they seemed solid and 'physical' and aesthetically pleasing, lacking the troublesome / disturbing and often menacing quality of what I'd recognised as astral-sourced visuals in the past.

So, where they weren't some sort of nature scene fragment, at least they gave a sunlit, airy impression, as though they were replacements for the previous troublesome stuff.

My inner inquiry indications were clear, that this was just a brief side-effect of that aspect of consciousness that had been manifesting as 'the astral' while people's ordinary 'minds' had been open to it, having at last been opened up and properly connected-up in my deeper aspects, now to start performing its originally intended function. That is, this was my 'creativity scratchpad' at last getting initialized so I could start benefiting from its creativity-enhancing functionality. Wow! — At least, if that's true!

As my inner inquiry had intimated would be the case, since that night I've had virtually no more of those visuals. Since then one new thing I've noticed is that I've often had various detail memories from my far past come up with surprising clarity, giving me the opportunity to look at them and see them from different perspectives. Allegedly this is an early part of my own spontaneous individual initialization of that scratchpad, in a process of building a far more creative view of all my life experiences, both past and present.

Again, I got reports of remarkably similar nocturnal visual experiences, all within the odd week or two of mine, from a handful of the no-soul people who'd reported the earlier, less clearly indicative change. In each case the striking display had not repeated at all on subsequent nights. That really is suggestive of a side-effect of a one-off significant change in function of the 'ex-astral'.

Then on one night in late January 2023 I had a really tiresome strong 'overactive mind' condition come up for a while, and at its climax, what did I see but another brief display of 'detoxified' astral images! This was just a bit of what looked like the horribly disturbing 'databank' hell imagery, with repeating geometrical shapes on a surface — but here these were not presented as a meaningless two-dimensional wall, but were more like patterned sheets that were laid out on a three-dimensional surface with gentle curves. Again, their overall impression was airy, sunny and non-threatening.

I did try to shut them out of my view, and, disconcertingly, they were trying to return, but I soon did manage to shut them off, and haven't seen any more of that up to the time of writing this (mid-February 2023).

My inner inquiry indications were that this was a side-effect of initialization of another aspect of my connection to the creativity scratchpad. No doubt there may be the odd similar occurrences in the future as further aspects of that connection become ready for initializing and bringing into use. I expect not to see those as significant enough to report on, now that things have come this far.
