Healing From Our 'Core Essence'

This article presents the simple and easy way to carry out so-called 'spiritual' healing of the highest order with safety and integrity and without the major issue of dark force influence, which latter, as far as I can tell, permeates ALL the healing, religious, mystical and spiritual traditions.

The problem with the spiritual healing traditions and systems

It is quite widely understood that fundamentally each one of us humans is a part of (I would prefer to say, a manifestation of) the all-pervading consciousness out of which all experiences, objects and phenomena arise, so that actually our deepest level of consciousness, or 'core essence', is none other than the Ultimate (as far as anyone can tell what the Ultimate is - because actually NOBODY can absolutely know such a thing!).

What is bizarre is that people who are into healing and spiritual practices almost invariably do not apply the simple logic of that understanding and consistently work from the Ultimate, which is their own deepest aspect. Instead, in a huge variety of ways they invoke or draw in apparently outside energies or presences, believing them to be 'higher' and thus purer and more powerful than what they would get from the deepest aspects of themselves. That defies common-sense, because any such apparently external source, however high it appears to be, cannot help but be 'lower' and lesser than one's own deepest aspect, which, as I say, is actually the Ultimate and thus the 'highest' and most fundamental source for any sort of healing.

Typically a healer will 'draw in the Light' or invoke guides or supposed higher beings such as 'ascended masters' or angels to deliver the healing or assist in it. What they do not realize is that by doing such things they are following the general dark force agenda to turn us away from awareness of and manifesting our deepest aspect - the very 'thing' that could set us completely free from dark force interference and control, and could liberate us into truly enlightened living. What they also do not realize is that all those 'guides' and higher beings are nothing more than illusions produced in their mindspace under hijack control from the dark force), and so they are actually unwittingly dealing with the dark force operating in super-impostor mode - and it is a consummate 'master' of deceit.

Also, what healers almost universally are not aware of is that the structured human 'energy system' or 'aura', with all its components such as energy bodies, different levels, chakras, nadi and so on (and yes, even the supposed core star / assemblage point), does not objectively exist. It is another example of a whole illusory non-physical 'reality' that the dark force displays to anyone who is reasonably 'psychic', (a) to divert people away from turning to and working from their own deepest aspects in healing and self actualization work, and (b) to hook people up to a means for them to do potentially great harm to each other by psychic means, even innocently while giving 'healing'.

It is possible to do people such harm through tampering with or outright attacking components of the 'aura' - particularly the chakras. Although these structures are illusory, for anyone (and that means a lot of people) who is carrying a belief in them or an (often hidden) illusory reality in which they are real, it is possible for that person to (a) work upon those structures to harm somebody, and (b) be harmed by such attempts by somebody else who is also carrying essentially the same 'chakras are real' belief / illusory reality.

For this reason, any genuinely beneficial and safe healing work needs to be done by people who are clear of all 'chakras / the aura are real' belief / illusory reality, and who completely disregard any psychic perceptions of any such (illusory) structures, which would actually all represent simply what the dark force is trying to show them in order to lead one into serious problems.

What I am presenting on this page, therefore, is a much needed antidote to the highly problematical practices and beliefs that permeate virtually all healing traditions and bring people more under the usually covert influence and control of the dark force. I have simply gone back to basics and am pointing myself and others to one's own deepest aspect - fundamental consciousness - as the one 'highest', purest and rock-solid-reliable source to use for all healing, protection, self actualization / self realization, guidance and clearance of dark force interference / attacks.

So, please do not be afraid and run away because I openly talk of the dark force! What I am on about in this site is NOT dealing or meddling with anything 'dark', but, on the contrary, how we can actually STOP the dealing or complying with the dark force that virtually ALL of us have been doing unawarely throughout our lives, and completely free ourselves from such interferences and influences. I well understand that most people do not want to countenance the very notion of a dark force at all - but I would ask them: How do you expect to make your hands fully clean if you refuse even to consider the possibility that they have dirt on them?

Working directly with 'the Ultimate' - an intimidating prospect?

Afraid that working with 'the Ultimate' would be more difficult / complex than the healing methods you know, such as Reiki? Just look at what a vast and complex Behemoth of a method Vortex Healing is - all for the sake of supposedly getting the highest and purest possible healing source! And yet it gloriously falls short of working directly with 'the Ultimate' - though its founders and advanced practitioners did apparently manage to access 'higher' and more powerful healing 'energies' than in standard Reiki (a lure to ensure that the Vortex healing people did not take a step back and discover the real way forward and also what a devilishly serious 'hole' they had actually fallen into with their dark force involvement - in particular, unaware membership of the cacoprotean network!). As I say, the Vortex Healing people, despite all their well-intentioned efforts, still failed gloriously to tap 'the Ultimate'. Why?

-- Because the method's founder was unawarely being led astray by the dark force in the guise of certain purported higher beings (in particular, 'Merlin' - who is as bogus as are all the 'ascended masters', angels and archangels), and was being led up the garden path and around and around a myriad mulberry bushes in order to keep him well away from the simplicity and directness that could speedily open up people's most fundamental awareness and free them from their issues and dark force influences for good.

I say this without smugness or judgement, particularly as I myself was similarly led astray for a time, albeit dramatically less elegantly - see My Own Self Actualization 'Path' - Part 1 - so I empathize with others who are being taken for a ride by the dark force.

As you will see further below, working from your own deepest aspects and thus from 'the Ultimate' is the simplest, most natural form of healing and indeed living that there is. The only 'method' about it is to cultivate openness to your deepest aspects and to allow them to attend to all the details in healing work. You do not need to see auras and chakras (indeed, as already intimated, you need NOT to see them, or at least to completely disregard them if you do see them, because they are illusions being given to you by the dark force) and you do not need to 'see' inside people's bodies the way that various supposedly very advanced* healers do; indeed, if you do so you need to disregard all such perceptions (very important!) and concentrate on cultivating stronger grounding of your awareness and whole being.

* Actually, with all due respect to those well-intentioned people, I would be inclined to replace "advanced" with "pixie-led", because - yes, you've guessed it! - it is a combination of poor grounding and dark force interference that causes anyone to get the impression of 'seeing' into somebody's body, so anyone with such an 'ability' is actually in quite serious trouble and could very greatly benefit from the methods that I give on this and related pages on this site. I expand further below on the problems about people having such supposedly higher perceptions.

There is one particular thing in hands-on healings that is very helpful to cultivate, and that is an internal means of 'testing within' without in any way inviting external sources to answer (ordinary dowsing / channelling is 'out' here because it always uses the dark force), in order to establish when to change hand positions and indeed when to finish the session, and also to establish whether any hunch or intuition of yours would be helpful.

Generally this is made possible by taking up energy testing and using related practices and procedures that I give in Some Potent Self Actualization / Healing Practices.

And why is that so powerfully effective? -- Because energy testing and a truly grounded type of 'energy' awareness progressively opens up your communication channels from your deepest aspects, which are based in fundamental consciousness - so that you become increasingly a direct manifestation of your own very deepest aspect and true nature, and are thus increasingly free from interference and deceptions from the dark force (those deceptions including all apparent non-physical beings that 'guide' people in their healing work, and indeed all other non-physical beings too, and indeed, the human 'aura' and all its structures, including chakras).

The core star and assemblage point

Particular healing traditions recognise a point that is deep within each one of us, which is by some means supposedly the person's connection with 'Source' or his 'core essence'. I wrote quite a bit about that here, but have jettisoned that now as a confusing distraction. The so-called core star and assemblage point appear to be just different traditions' names / descriptions for one particular phenomenon that is itself illusory, for which I myself prefer to use the generic term 'core point'. Just as the dark force shows healers the illusory aura / chakra system in order to divert them away from working from their own deepest aspects, so it also shows particular healers the supposedly more fundamental structure of the core point (i.e. more fundamental than the purported 'aura'), again to divert them from really working from their deepest aspects (while believing that they are actually doing so).

Your deepest aspect or, figuratively, 'core essence', is actually not something that you can locate in some central core or indeed core point of your being, for it is completely non-located and is simply a micro-aspect of fundamental consciousness (aka universal consciousness). This is something that you understand naturally and directly when you become enlightened. For this reason it is actually extremely unhelpful to involve yourself with a supposedly 'real' core point (however it may be named or described).

However, further below I describe a healing visualization based on the notion of the core point - but this is intended only as a pragmatic option for people more or less new to 'core essence' healing and pointing themselves in a genuine self actualization direction. The visualization is just schematic / symbolic and does not represent the actual appearance of anything 'real'.

Healing from your 'core essence'

When you work truly from your own deepest aspects you are working at the most fundamental level and have no cause nor need to work in or associate with any healing or spiritual tradition or system - and indeed you actually need not to work in or associate with them. However, people who are attached to such systems and traditions can greatly enhance their own healing work by incorporating the basic 'core essence' methods in their own ways of working. The only problem about that, of course, is that such people are still being confused by the dark force (otherwise they would not remain in those traditions) and may get the impression that they are getting clearer from dark force influence and control than they really are.

I thus counsel that, for full and safe self actualization, ONLY a 'core essence' based approach be used in direct energy-work healing. I am not putting forward any "should" or "shouldn't" about any of this - I talk simply of cause and effect, and I mind my own business and not other people's.

Currently my intuition is not to give this mode of healing a trademark sort of name such as Core Essence Healing, because that would at once become the beginning of another healing tradition that would get hijacked by people's (and the dark force's) agendas. Thus I am simply calling it what it is - "healing from the 'core essence'", with no capitalization, and the single quotes to signify that 'core essence' is a figurative expression and could mislead some people if they took it in a literal way. This approach helps to keep all mystique out of it, as well as giving a stronger impression that this method is the most basic and fundamental, and belongs to everyone, not being anyone's exclusive property.

The fundamental 'core point' visualization

As already noted, this is intended for people new to working from their core essence, and it is best let go of over time, in favour of a much more tenuous sense of the real, non-located 'core essence' opening out from yourself or/and other people and filling all of 'Existence'.

You can be standing, sitting or lying for this, but your back does need to be straight for best results, though relaxed and not stiffly held. I myself did it during my lie-downs as part of my application of the Alexander Technique in my everyday life. Please note that it is important that throughout this practice you keep your EYES OPEN and you remain as aware as possible of your surroundings. Otherwise you would be carrying out just another more or less harmful ungrounding 'healing' visualization that would benefit the dark force probably more than you!

  • Set your intent that what you are about to do is going to balance and energize your whole being, including all non-physical aspects, and is going to strengthen your non-physical aspects against all foreign energies, 'entities' and dark force influences, so that with ongoing use of this method over a period your whole being will progressively become resistant to them as it progressively becomes undistorted and full strength all-round.
  • Visualize a point* of intense 'energy'** deep within your upper abdomen (a bit lower than the so-called solar plexus). Contrary to what you may read in some quarters, the exact position does not matter, because, as I have already intimated, this is just a visualization of something that really has NO position at all, unless 'everywhere and nowhere' counts as a 'position'! More important is simply having a sense of it being somewhere deep in your middle - as non-specific as that!
    * Most people would think in terms of an intensely bright light here, but I counsel against thinking of it as light, instead recognising its appearance as just being a schematic depiction of something that is really invisible and indeed not located at all. I myself see it actually as a sort of shimmery greyish that has a feel about it of being intense and almost invisible and made up of masses of brilliant colours in the individual rays, which in bulk, as I say, look shimmery greyish. However, it is best not to encourage yourself to see a lot of detail about it.

If you see it as white light, that is probably all right initially, but it's best not to be fixated upon whiteness nor visual brilliance as people tend to be in healing visualizations. On the other hand, if you see the overall colour of the 'energy' as violet, purple or gold (beloved of the New Age movement to signify supposed high spirituality but actually having been given a certain resonance with the dark force) it is best to proceed with particular caution, because these colours are used as lures for us from the dark force. In such an event for myself I would expect to wipe out the visualization and start again, with the specific intention to exclude that colour.

** I generally put 'energy' in quotes when the term is not referring to physically measurable energy, because the whole notion of non-physical 'energy' is really just a schematic sort of description of a dynamic aspect of consciousness and of experience, which actually nobody could ever understand in the slightest. A widespread fixation on the notion of non-physical 'energies' has been cultivated by the dark force in order to help sidetrack people away from the recognition of their own true nature as awareness / consciousness, which would mark their crossing the threshold of enlightenment, and also to make all sorts of psychic interference and attack possible through using (actually illusory) 'energy' via illusory realities in which such 'energy' is 'real'.

In this particular case, the really effective approach is to visualize the point of 'energy' but to keep very clear in your mind that it is just representing something that is just consciousness / awareness, and is invisible and really not even possible to define, and thus cannot really be usefully called 'energy'!

  • Imagine that its 'energy' is like liquid, and breathe it in through your partly open lips with a long, deep breath into your abdomen (using your diaphragm), so that you are filling yourself up with this liquid energy.
  • Perceive yourself as an amplifier, so that what you are going to breathe out will be immensely amplified.
  • Slowly and deliberately, gently forcing it through your partly closed lips, breathe out a sustained jet of the now amplified energy back into that point of energy*, and see the mass of myriads of laser-beam-like energy rays expanding further and further out from that point in ALL directions, and be clear in your intent that this expanding radiation is transforming or squeezing out (as appropriate) all foreign or problematical energies, entities and dark force influences, and that your repeatedly doing this will over a period make you invulnerable to all such interferences.
    * Actually you use your visualization - not your head position - to direct that jet where it needs to go. I am not for a moment suggesting that you need to do anything physically other than maintain a natural head / neck / back alignment and do the breathing straight ahead (in other words, straight upwards if you are lying on your back).
  • Repeat the breathing / visualization sequence and see those faint shimmery rays extending still further and further out. Do not limit their extent to the supposed bounds of your supposed 'energy system', and ensure that the 'radiation' from that energy point expands outward equally in ALL directions, including behind you.
  • Repeat a few more times until there is no further change because (with your intent) that radiation from your core point now fills all of Existence (nothing less!).

** Important! I use the term 'energy' just as a figure of speech for the purpose of this visualization and certain other practices. The very notion of seeing, feeling or working with 'energy' actually comes to us from the dark force, via all manner of teachers and traditions, and the aim behind it is always to divert people from recognising the true nature of all they experience as being simply consciousness or awareness, and NOBODY in the whole of existence knows or even could know what that really is. It is crucially important to let go of the concept of non-physical 'energy' as anything 'real' if you really mean to be pointed towards enlightenment and genuine self actualization, clear of dark force interference.

This visualization can be done weekly or daily, but optimally, while it is helpful to do it formally, it would be done three times per day. The latter is not much of an imposition, because this whole procedure takes so little time - at most only some three or perhaps four minutes. For it to have its full effect, use it as well as other self healing / self actualization methods, and particularly my set of affirmations / declarations of intent with the use of a suitable stone sphere or, best, a Clarity-Sphere, to augment their effectiveness.

Note that, at complete variance with various other people's core star or assemblage point visualizations, in my visualization the 'core point' does NOT expand at all during this visualization, and remains a point source. What expands is the extent and strength of its 'radiation' (really, of your openness to your true nature, which is the Ultimate - fundamental consciousness itself).

"This method isn't working for me now, because I no longer significantly see my core point"

This raises an important point (sic). In normal healing visualizations it is assumed that what people 'see' in their visualizations is intrinsically 'good' and would become stronger and clearer with practice, and it is assumed that with increased vividness of the visualization there would be a corresponding increase of effectiveness of the method. But actually, such visualizations generally involve and indeed cultivate a fair degree of ungroundedness, with consequent opening to the astral sub-reality and thus the dark force, so that an increase of vividness of visualizations would almost certainly mean NOT an improvement in anything worthwhile at all.

So, when you are doing your 'core point' visualization, actually it is best that you have a clear intent that the visualization becomes less visible over time, even to the point of virtual invisibility, owing to your awareness becoming more grounded! That is because you need to cultivate maximum groundedness of all your aspects, including all aspects of your awareness, and - strange though this may seem at first - you do not need to 'see' anything for a visualization method to work powerfully.

It is thus important not to get put off from the core point visualization practice just because you no longer 'see' much or indeed anything when you 'visualize'. It is a healthy sign that you do not 'see' anything much or even at all, and it is fully enough to have just a non-visual sense of a point source radiating out the fullest conceivable range of healing and life force 'energies' or influences from your middle into the furthest reaches of 'All There Is'.

I myself had the 'core point' visualization method work in this way for myself, so that eventually I 'saw' almost nothing, but it was enough (and indeed best) that I was 'visualizing' with my intent rather than with actual visible images - so I speak about this from my own experience.

As in all aspects of healing work, it is best that you be using energy testing, because by that means you can establish for yourself whether any particular 'core point' or 'core essence' method of yours is working optimally, and, as appropriate, what you could do to improve it, and indeed whether it really is helpful for you to be doing it at all. Then you would have no cause at all for confusion over such matters as faint or 'invisible' visualizations.

Really, the point (sic) in this case is that the particular practice is not specifically a visualization at all; it just happens, though, that visualization is one 'handle' upon it. Fundamentally it is really a focusing of your intent rather than very much to do with your visual senses.

In any case, when the visualization is nicely faint, the smart thing is to let go of the figurative 'point' representation altogether and simply integrate a self perception of your (actually invisible) own deepest aspects constantly expanding into all of 'Existence' into your everyday life. You then would have no cause to have specific sessions for a formal visualization.

Using your 'core essence' in healing work

I remind here yet again that the 'core point' is nothing more than a convenient schematic representation of your deepest aspect, and so it is important to keep as much as possible in touch with your actual deepest aspect (which is everywhere) and not get fixated upon its schematic representation and thus become sidetracked - and indeed to let go of the very notion of the core point when you are not actually using this specific visualization.

Hands-on healing

You can place your hands intuitively, but can also use some system of hand positions such as you may have learned in Reiki or some other healing system. While such healing systems have various seriously problematical elements that tend to connect you with the dark force, there is no harm in flexible use of a sequence of hand positions that you may have learnt, just as a framework upon which you can build your own more flexible and intuitive approach. You just need to be aware that you are not now putting your hands on 'chakra' positions or indeed the position of any 'energy' structure such as the purported 'third eye' - even if you are putting your hands on those respective positions on the body.

Thus to an outside observer, apart from your never using symbols nor invoking higher beings, and completely excluding any notion of chakras or other 'energy' structures, you could appear to be a standard Reiki healer, but you are actually doing something different - though I am also aware that many healers in Reiki and other traditions are actually to varying extents really using the 'core essence' method anyway while externally appearing to conform to their particular tradition - though vanishingly few of them appear to recognise, at least fully, what they are really doing. I am simply bringing it out into the open and emancipating it.

I know various healers who call what they do 'Reiki' while actually they work almost entirely from their own deepest aspects (again, generally not fully recognising what they are really doing) and never use symbols nor invoke external 'energies' or beings - much as there are some very 'open', aware and 'with-it' people who think of themselves as Christians just because they have not yet become aware of a better label to use for their totally belief-free non-religious outlook, which is more to do with self actualization than with religion or 'spirituality'.

What you do NOT do is 'call in the Light', nor invite, invoke nor visualize any external light or higher beings such as guides, angels, goddesses or ascended masters - not even "Divine Consciousness", "God" nor "the Holy Spirit", nor your supposed higher self / higher consciousness*, for these are all dark force inventions to lure you into eventual deep trouble. Nor do you use symbols, crystals, wands, energy implants, chants or rituals (including attunements). These are all OUT, because they bring in their own problems and likelihood of dark force connections, especially as they all point you away from reliance on your (and the recipient's) deepest aspects. That may sound severe and 'absolutist', but I say this not from belief but from my own personal experience and observations. Look what tremendous problems were brought to me by using sacred geometry wands plus crystals!

* Also for jettisoning is the bizarre and extremely troublesome concept of the 'inner child' - another fiction given to us by the dark force in order to divert our attention away from opening up the power and invulnerability of our own deepest aspects.

You keep in mind instead that the one pure and reliable healing source is your own deepest aspect (which is the Ultimate and "The All", and is your ultimate protection and security), and you simply, with your gentle intent, allow the positive, healing effects from your own deepest aspects to open out and flow to the recipient of the healing, without your trying to direct it at all. You can also, in a gentle, coaxing way, visualize the 'radiation' from the recipient's core point or simply their core essence (i.e. not located in a specific point) opening up and appearing to merge with yours as it expands further and further out to fill all of 'Existence'. With practice you may well get an impression of this happening without any specific deliberate visualization on your part.

It is important never to get attached to such visual impressions that may arise. Even when you are working in this way, the dark force will seek to lead you astray by showing you impressive visuals if it can possibly manage it (i.e. if the appropriate aspects of your awareness are not yet sufficiently grounded). Even when you seem to be 'seeing' exactly the 'right' things, you are still only being shown schematic representations, which may or (more likely) may not faithfully represent what is really going on, and in any case it would in most cases be the dark force that is doing the showing, so the aim would be to use such displays in order to lead you astray.

It's that simple! Of course you will have a general healing intent and indeed often some specific healing intent, but, as in any really effective healing work, you do not fixate upon specific outcomes, for you cannot know what outcome is for a particular person's ultimate good, or indeed is really possible. Instead you can stay joyfully and peacefully relaxed as you allow the very 'highest'* available source to work through both you and the recipient and do whatever is do be done at that time.

* That is actually not at all the right word to use here, except that I am making the point that it is the 'highest' (i.e. simply the purest and most beneficial) in relation to the supposed 'higher' sources that healers generally seek to channel. The problem about thinking in terms of it being 'high' is that at once you are implicitly regarding it as separate from yourself - as 'something above', which it is not. It is again our old 'friend' the dark force that cultivates the fiction of a non-physical polarity of 'high' and 'low' - and indeed other equally fictitious non-physical polarities such as 'light' and 'dark', 'good' and 'evil', 'positive' and 'negative'.

Because of the problem of dark force interference it is extremely problematical to try to get guidance from some supposedly higher source or to do ordinary dowsing to guide you through a healing session. Best to simply use your intuition as to what to do and where to place your attention and hands. However, the really smart way round this is to use energy testing. When you use energy testing you do not ask questions (which is always an invitation to the dark force to interfere, even if covertly), but instead you simply test a particular choice (current or prospective) to see if it is strengthening or weakening for you at that time. Carefully used, that is quite enough to enable you to be an extremely effective and intuitive healer with no 'outside' assistance at all.

I do not recommend hands-on healing as anyone's sole method of healing / self actualization, for that is an inefficient means on its own, and it is very easy to get attached to giving / receiving hands-on healing and actually to be progressing hardly at all that way. It is most useful as an occasional adjunct to other methods used in an ongoing fashion, and for impromptu situations when it is appropriate to give hands-on healing to somebody. For your everyday self healing and self actualization process the most effective choice would be a selection of the methods listed in Healing and Self Actualization - The Safest and Quickest Way.

Distant healing

The simplicity of this parallels that of hands-on healing with the 'core essence' approach. You can do this in all manner of ways in external detail, but again invocations and invitations to anything external, and rituals, are all out. The general principle is simply to have in front of you some representation of the intended recipient(s) and to allow your core essence to expand and open out, flowing to the recipient(s), whose own core essence also expands and usually appears to merge with your own. You may hold out your palms towards the representation of the recipient(s) - I myself often find it helpful - though usually the strongest energy flow that I am aware of seems to be in a broad warm swathe from my whole chest area, so flowing out between my arms and my palms rather than through them.

As to what sort of representation of the recipient(s) to use, it really can be anything meaningful to you - a photo, a letter, a surrogate such as a small teddy bear, or it can be a visualization. However, a photo would generally get you the strongest connection with the person. You can imagine that you have the recipient(s) gently cradled in your cupped hands, for example. When you have a feel of this way of working, you generally don't need a visualization to be a detailed one, for its purpose is simply to help focus your intent upon the recipient(s). As long as you've made energy contact with the particular person(s), the process will work. You can also do it with telephone contact with the recipient. That can often be even more effective than using a photo - though of course you can get the best of both worlds by having a photo of the person in front of you while also on the phone to him/her.

- Well, the above is simply standard and relatively ineffective distant healing practice. An enhanced and more efficient way of carrying out a distant healing session is described in Stone Spheres as Healing and Self Actualization Aids, and, best of all, in the Clarity-Sphere User Guide.

As with hands-on healing, the more you open up to your own deepest aspects by working on yourself, the more effective will this way of working become for distant healing.

Appendix - A suggested set of hand positions for giving healing to another person

I give here a common sequence of hand positions that I used to use in full hands-on sessions. It is a considerable modification of the sequence of positions that I was given in Reiki. I do not mean this to be followed slavishly, for I myself was not slavish in following it - regarding it as simply a useful framework to use where I have no specific indications to do otherwise. However, from my current perspective I see so many hand positions as over-kill for normal purposes, and they could still reinforce notions of there being actual chakras or other 'energy' structures in those positions - a perception that we need to keep completely clear of. So, I emphasize that the sequence of hand positions that I give below is really a notional maximum, and normally it is better to use only some of them, according to your intuition or, much better, energy testing indications.

The point of putting your hands in a number of different positions is NOT to enable the 'energy' work to be able to occur where it is needed, for that in itself can be achieved MUCH more simply. The point of all the hand positions is to give the additional healing effect of the loving physical contact. For a really efficient hands-on healing session in terms of just the 'energy' work, ALL you need to do is to put your hands on the recipient's shoulders and keep them there for probably a few minutes, till your energy testing indicates that the session is finished. When you work like that, with the intent of healing of whatever needs attention at that time, even a problem in the person's lowest parts would get healing just as though you had put your hands down there - but with the exception of the lack of the additional healing effects of the loving physical contact over the problem area.

So, basically hands-on-shoulders-only is the smart way to give a quick burst of healing when time or the situation is a limiting factor, but the multi-position hands-on work, while being less efficient in terms of the energy work, has an additional healing effect that is not so easily gained by other means.

Please note that, as already noted, I counsel AGAINST doing hands-off healing altogether, except where there is some specific reason why one's hands cannot be placed in the particular position(s). Because of people's normal emotional issues with regard to what are actually quite stupidly regarded as 'private' (i.e. hidden, unmentionable and untouchable) parts of the body, it is generally wise policy to work hands-off for the so-called private areas, and of course in some particular cases there may be other specific reasons for keeping hands off. However, there is NO worthy justification for people simply preferring to work hands-off (usually with the excuse that "I want to feel the energy, and I feel it more when working hands off"). That is not about love or indeed healing - it is a combination of their own personal indulgence and showing off, and is usually also associated with a belief in the 'aura' and 'chakras', which itself is harmful, as already noted. The consequent real healing effects will be the less for that whole outlook, which would not be communicating anything really warm and healing to the recipient - and actual harm could result.

The exact order in which the positions are applied is of little consequence, apart from following any indications of your intuition or, best, your energy testing results.

Working from the bottom upwards tends to be problematical because it keys in with the dark force sourced notion of bringing 'Earth energies' in through the feet and root chakra. The whole concept of doing anything with purported Earth energies is very much from the dark force and to be avoided. But then again, if we are working from top to bottom we need to remember to keep clear of any notion of our 'bringing in the Light'. However, working from top to bottom can give much more a sense of drawing in any displaced parts of the person's non-physical aspects and thus getting the whole person better grounded, and it is with this in mind that I prefer and recommend working from top to bottom. Your own energy testing at the beginning of each session would be your best indicator, for there is no one 'right' way about this.

Supposedly, ideally you need to let significant 'energy flow' subside before moving to the next position. However, the impressions of 'energy flow' that people notice are generally just dark force interferences in order to divert attention from what is or indeed is not really going on. Therefore all you can do is go by your intuition, or, even better, use energy testing to establish when it is time to move on or finish the session. Indeed, genuine healing 'energy' (I suspect actually 'resonance' effects and not a true flow of real energy at all) gives very 'quiet' and subtle sensations, if any, so the sensations of supposed energy flow that most healers experience are actually something else - kindly laid on by the dark force to mislead them as to what is really going on, and to get them attached to their 'healing' methods and sessions rather than paying proper attention to the real healing needs and process.

However, normally it is okay to limit the time at each position in order to fit the session into a particular period of time. If on the other hand you get some sense that it would be best to stay longer at a particular position it may well be best to stay with that as long as possible and then to give a shorter duration on the other positions in order to fit into the allotted session time, for any dramatic sensations of 'energy flow' may well not be genuinely showing you what is really going on, being distractions given to you by the dark force, as already noted. Again, energy testing is the best way to establish how much time to allocate to each position. An alternative way to handle this latter situation would be, rather than to go through all the remaining positions that you had intended to use, simply to place your hands back on the person's shoulders, with the intention that healing should now flow to wherever it is still needed, for as long as you get significant energy flow (confirm with energy testing, not any sensations that you may be getting), or as long as is practical to allow (whichever is the shorter).

The opposed hand positions on the torso (suggested below) may encourage a more balanced healing and strengthening of the recipient's non-physical aspects. Typically in healing sessions the front gets worked on a lot and the sides and back get more or less neglected. Therefore a clear intent for an ongoing major strengthening and balancing-up all round is greatly helpful, even though your deepest aspects would seek to bring that about anyway. A conscious intent that is in line with what your deepest aspects would be doing would greatly facilitate any healing.

Because of the issue of dark force interference and involvement, I strongly counsel and warn against asking or listening to guides or other apparently external guidance sources to tell you when it is okay to move on, or indeed what needs to be worked on, or for any other purpose - as it would actually the the dark force that is informing you. As already noted, the smart way of getting such information is to use one of the internal (non-pendulum) means of energy testing. Then, instead of asking a question, you can just visualize yourself staying put at the current position or moving to the next and see if you get a 'strengthening' or a 'weakening' response (simply go for what is 'strengthening'). By the same means you can also determine the usefulness or otherwise of any other possible hand position or action at the present time.

Contrary to the beliefs of most healers, it is extremely problematical for the healing recipient to be getting spaced out or even going out-of-body during the session, for that simply increases dark force connections. It is seriously important for both healer and recipient to remain as grounded as possible for the whole session. Generally speaking, therefore, both people need to keep their EYES OPEN and they need to keep aware of their surroundings, while also being peaceful and relaxed.

The place of music (etc) in healing sessions

I have now moved this section to Healing and Self Actualization - The Safest and Quickest Way, and have expanded it somewhat.

And now the healing session procedure...

I give the hand positions here for a recipient sitting on an upright chair with sufficient space around it; these may need some modification for somebody who is lying down or, for some reason, in a non-standard position. I remind that this is a notional maximum sequence, and generally it is much better to use fewer, well chosen positions according to your energy testing indications.

  • Stand behind recipient and place both hands on shoulders. Remain here till your energy testing indicates to move on.

  • Both hands on crown.

  • A hand over each eye, slightly cupped, so not quite touching the eye(lids). Usually this position is held only briefly.

  • A hand on each temple and ear (as far as you can cover them both without contortions!). It's fine to make that two consecutive positions. Usually this again is held only briefly.

  • (move round to one side)
One palm on the middle of the forehead (this is the traditional 'third eye' position, but keep clear of any notion that there really is a 'third eye there') and the other palm over the occiput - the slight prominence at the back of the head.

  • One palm over the front of the lower throat, immediately above the top of the sternum, and the other palm on the back of the neck, opposite each other.

N.B. Some people have emotional issues relating to contact on the throat, so with a new recipient it is always best to check with them whether it is okay for you to put your hand on the front of the throat. If necessary you can hold your hand slightly away from the skin; it will still work fine.
  • One palm on the middle of the chest at heart level, and the other on the back, opposite each other.

N.B. In the case of female recipients, and especially with male healers, this needs to be modified in order not to intrude on 'private' areas, so the hand at the front either rests a little higher, against the upper chest and upper base of the breasts, or is held at the heart level but a bit off the body. Either way, that works fine.
  • One palm on uppermost abdomen - the part that lies between the lower ribs and is commonly referred to as the solar plexus area - and one palm on the back, opposite each other.

  • One palm on the mid-abdomen, a bit below the navel and the other palm on the back, squarely on the sacrum (the fused lowest back vertebrae), so that again they are opposite each other.

  • One palm against the bottom of the spine (including the coccyx), and the other palm held underneath the chair, facing up to the perineal area and 'private parts'.
An equally effective alternative to having a hand under the chair is to hold it over the person's genital area - keeping the hand reasonably close but for obvious reasons not in contact unless you have some particular healthy, non-sexually motivated understanding with the recipient about that.

  • One palm on the hip joint (on the side on which you are already working) and the other palm on top of the knee; visualize that section of the leg rapidly filling with healing 'energy'. Unless your energy testing indicates otherwise, move on as soon as your visualization has nicely filled that leg section.

Always think in terms of purity and a 'quiet' intensity rather than any sort of dazzling quality when you do visualizations involving healing 'energy'. Also, it is best if you can simply 'visualize with intent', without seeing the 'energy' as any sort of light or colour at all.
  • One palm on top of the knee and the other wrapped around the front of the ankle. The same comments apply.

  • Palms on either side of the knee. The same comments apply.

  • Palms around front and back of the ankle. The same comments apply.

  • Taking care to maintain some physical contact as you move to the other side, repeat the above sequence for the other leg.

  • Placing yourself in front of the client, place your hands on top of and around either foot. At this point I used to visualize 'roots' extending from the soles of the feet into the ground, and many healers may do this routinely - but I do not really recommend that nowadays, because it is bound to help cultivate the myth  that that visualization in some way improves the healing recipient's grounding - which it does not in any material respect. I explain about grounding in Healing and Self Actualization - The Safest and Quickest Way.

  • Place one hand on one shoulder (not on the joint) and the other hand on the back of the person's hand on that side, then repeat for the other side, visualizing as for sections of the legs. Similarly, this is usually very brief.

  • A nonessential but sometimes still useful step at this point is to do a scan of the person with your hands a few inches off him/her - front, back and indeed limbs and over and around the head, to see if you get any indications to put your hands on any additional spots. When you do this, the dark force will very likely give you various 'false positives', so when you experience particular transient sensations in your hands as you scan, you need to energy-test to find out whether you actually need to put your hands on the particular position. In fact it would be better to do the scan without using your hands at all, simply by scanning the person with a carefully focused gaze, paying attention to your inner energy testing indications as you scan. For many people using that scanning method would most likely be much more free from dark force interference than the scan with the hands in the supposed 'energy system' / 'aura', which is almost always strongly interfered with by the dark force.

  • To finish off, go round to the back of the recipient again, and place your hands on his/her shoulders for a minute or so, tuning into a sense of completion and joyful acceptance but NOT thanking anyone or anything. Then signify to the client that the session is finished, such as with a little squeeze on the shoulders while you whisper or very quietly say that you have finished now (bearing in mind that the recipient just might be dozing off and a sudden loudish voice may cause startlement).

An option while your hands are there, before you do your 'final cooling-down' tune-in with hands on the recipient's shoulders, is to carry out some gentle massage / bodywork on the upper back and neck to assist in releasing over-tense muscles there - that is, if you are competent to do this sort of thing. Responsible discretion is required here - and if you have healer's insurance, you need to be aware that any sort of massage or bodywork on a client is usually strictly excluded in insurance policies for 'spiritual healers'.

However, my observation is that nearly everyone who has an urge to do this sort of thing, even if professionally trained in massage, does it much more harshly and forcefully than is helpful, and without the necessary level of awareness. Forcing muscles is painful and does not retrain them as is really what would be helpful. The most important thing, then, if you are going to do this, is to GENTLY AND PERSUASIVELY coax the shoulder blades into easing apart, for the vast majority of people have muscular tensions that pull the shoulder blades towards each other, and much emotional stress and trauma energy can be released simply by enabling those muscles to release their excess tension.

In fact you are unlikely to be able to do this well unless you have incorporated the Alexander Technique into your life and so are releasing / have released such muscular tensions of your own.

Self healing

In Reiki, people are typically taught a series of hand positions for giving hands-on healing to oneself. While you can do this with 'core essence' healing, there is little point in giving yourself all the different hand positions, because the main benefit of that when applied to another person does not really apply to doing it on yourself. Therefore, theoretically, all you need do for hands-on self healing is to put your hands on your shoulders for a few minutes - except that that would be for at least most people a physically stressful position to maintain.

It is best to use energy testing to establish for yourself what is the best hand position for you personally for this purpose. In my case, my energy testing showed a clear preference for my hands obliquely on the front of my upper chest, with tips of 3rd and 4th or 4th and 5th fingers of both hands touching or nearly touching at the very top of the sternum (i.e. between the clavicles). I found this at first a little tiring to hold for a significant period, but nothing like as stressful as having my hands on top of my shoulders.

Interestingly, the seemingly most 'obvious' places to put one's hands for self healing in the various healing traditions - either both hands at the supposed heart chakra position or one hand there and the other at the solar plexus position - got a distinct 'thumbs down' when I energy-tested on those positions. I emphasize, though, that that may or may not apply to you too, so you would need to energy-test to find out what is most suitable for you - and indeed you need to be aware that your energy testing results over such things may change over time.

If you have a suitable non-programmed stone sphere you can do hands-on self healings with your palms and fingertips on the sphere while maintaining your gaze on it and having a self healing intent at that time - but in terms of efficacy one would tend to achieve different aspects of your healing by doing this. So, it is good policy to divide a session so that about half is done with hands on the Sphere and the remainder is done with hands directly on yourself. On the Stone Spheres page I show how you can best go about that. If you have a Clarity-Sphere it is very likely that your energy testing would indicate 'strengthening' for just having your hands on your working 'desktop' sphere for the session; at least, that is how it has been for me so far.

Important note:

Both healers and recipients of healings almost universally gauge the quality or success of a healing session by the sensations and often 'visuals' that they have experienced during the session. What they don not realize is that at least NEARLY ALL of those experiences have been given to them by the dark force, and were bogus - telling them little or nothing about what was really going on, and thus they really need to be totally disregarded. It is end results that count - not nice, or fascinating impressions during healing sessions!

For the record, healing from your core essence is hardly feelable at all to almost anyone! People very advanced in their self actualization and dark force and entity clearance may pick up very subtle impressions that do reflect the real process, for those impressions would come from their own deepest aspects. But, for everyone else any such impressions would be routinely obliterated by the distorted and amplified versions of those impressions relayed to them by the dark force - and indeed those impressions would often be distorted out of all recognition, with all sorts of things added in, to make it all more fascinating or impressive for everyone and distract them completely from the real healing process - if indeed there is any!
